Maggie's first bike ride

We had such a wonderful weekend. Grant made delicious pancakes for breakfast Saturday morning, we played around for a while, and then we went for our first family bicycle ride. We parked at my dad's house and then rode about a mile to a great park/playground, where we had a picnic and played for a bit, and then we rode back. Maggie loved it and Grant and I did, too. We bought this little bike trailer for her this spring and this is the first time we've used it.

We actually had so much fun that tonight (Sunday) we went back over to my dad's house and all of us (including my 10-year-old brother, Spencer) rode bikes about a mile to a restaurant for dinner. The weather was beautiful, traffic was light, and dinner was great. It was especially meaningful to me because I spent many summer nights in my childhood riding bikes with my sisters and parents to dinner and we had so much fun.

Enjoy the pics!

Here she's trying on Spencer's (too big) helmet.

(By the way, we did buy a helmet for Maggie, and don't worry - it's PINK!)

I LOVE bike riding! That sounds like so much fun! I would really like to save up and buy good bikes for the whole family. I've been borrowing my brother's bike, which is great for excercise, but I can't go with my whole family! I really want to do that.

LOVE the pictures of Maggie on her biking adventure!!! Is she just too cute!!! Oh, how I remember those biking expeditions when you and your sister were not far from her age as well. You on your little bikes and Lindsay on the child seat on my bike behind me and going to Brentwood and getting food! Sweet memories. Glad you guys are getting to carry foward the tradition!!!

That should have read sisterS...you have TWO sisters, not one!!! :) Not sure exactly who I just cut out of the sisterhood but I assure you it was simply a typo!!!
