We are safe and sound in Texas with Grant's parents and we survived the looong car trip with no potty-related accidents and not even any extraneous potty stops. My mom, Carol and I had all bought little surprises for Maggie for the trip and I wrapped every one of them in wrapping paper. For every 15 minutes that she behaved I gave her a sticker to put on a chart I made, and then for every 3 stars she got to open one of her surprises. Overall the system worked smashingly and I'm suffering only slightly from the guilt of the bribing mother.
On our road trip Maggie regaled us with fascinating stories of things she did with her imaginary friend, Pepin, and her imaginary sister, Melia, and at the end of one such story she ended it by saying, "And that's the deal!"
I got to sleep until 9am today and until about 8am yesterday, thanks to my early-rising husband and mother-in-law. I could have slept longer...either there's something wrong with me or I'm chronically sleep-deprived and catching up on it! We've been going to the pool, playing in the sprinklers, and eating way too many of Carol's famous cookies.

I'm so glad the trip went well. I thought about you guys the WHOLE way!!! It does sound like you're having fun. I miss you GI-NORMOUS!!! It feels like you've been gone forever! Love you all so much!
