Sleeping cutie

I know I probably shouldn't take photos of Maggie when she's sleeping (because it might wake her up) but I can't help myself. She just looks so sweet!Did I mention we've been decorated for Christmas since about two weeks before Thanksgiving?! Maggie and I had to go to Lowe's and while we were there Maggie spotted the 12' inflatable Holy Family. She immediately became smitten with baby Jesus and didn't want to go anywhere else in the store. I think she could have stood there for an hour just looking at baby Jesus. I finally convinced her to go home by reminding her that we had our own baby Jesus in our nativity scene at home. I told her we'd get it out of storage soon. For the next two days it was all she could talk about. Immediately upon waking, multiple times, she would ask if it was time to get baby Jesus out. Finally we gave in and Grant brought in the Christmas decorations. We got out the nativity scene and Grant decided to leave the boxes inside since we knew we'd be decorating soon. After looking at them for about an hour we decided we might as well go ahead and decorate our whole house. It was kind of embarrassing for about two weeks when anyone came over, but then it was nice to already be decorated when Thanksgiving was over! Maggie is still over the moon about baby Jesus and although she knows the nativity scene is for decoration, not playing, she is allowed to hold him once a day. If we go anywhere that has a nativity scene out Maggie gasps loudly and then says, "Baby JESUS!" with so much joy. It just makes me happy.
I love Christmas so much that my family calls me the Christmas elf. I honestly didn't think Christmas could be any more fun but this is shaping up to be my most fun Christmas ever. We took Maggie to Opryland Hotel and she LOVED all the decorations (although we didn't love paying $20 for parking!). More importantly, she's finally old enough to have a good grasp of the Christmas story. Plus, it's really fun to hear her retell it ("There are these three guys and they had presents for baby Jesus..."). Maggie is definitely my mini-elf!

Great pic! There is something more fun about Christmas through the kids. Have a great one.

It seems only appropriate that our Christmas elf should have her very own "mini elf". And the extended family certainly needed a mini elf!
