As I type, Maggie is in her crib. She is supposed to be napping but she is currently making the sound of a chicken. Now she's saying, "The sun is awake!"
This is the second day in a row that she's not taking a nap. She's exactly 2 1/2 right now and that just seems early to drop her nap! She's been in her crib for an hour and so at least she's getting some rest time. No matter if this is a phase or how it's going to be now, I definitely plan on keeping "rest time" until she goes to kindergarten. Mama needs some rest time, too!
Anyone have any tips for getting her to take a nap? I've really been asking for a lot of advice lately, huh?! :)

Well my friend, it just may be that she is done with that nap. LOL. I know other friends have used that as "quiet time" so you get your time and they get some down time instead of sleeping. It's a hard transition when naps start disappearing. Of course, with children who are 17 and 15, I may be too far removed to be a good source of information. :)
I can remember once the kids were fighting bedtime and they started talking like Foghorn Leghorn telling me "We're stah-vin' mama, stha-vin I tell ya'..." Good times.
Allie and Parker both quit taking naps before they were 3. But I did continue "rest time" up until Parker started school. I still do it sometimes!
Good luck. At least you can put her to bed earlier and have some grown up time!!!
Ugh... no nap time? Maybe Jack needs to have a talking-to with his cousin...
Hey! What if Maggie had a "big girl bed"? Maybe she is associating nap time with bedtime and her night terrors? What if she had a new bed to go to sleep in? Maybe it would make naptime/bedtime more fun????
Of course you know how many kids I've raised????
